We Only Use the Finest Ingredients

We know that to give you the best taste sensation we need to use the finest ingredients – it’s what sets world-class patisseries apart from all the others who are more interested in making a quick dollar than giving their customer’s a memorable culinary experience. Sure, you can pick up a margarine filled croissant or preservative-laden cake from any old bakery or cafe, but to take your taste buds on a truly amazing journey your treats need to be made with only the finest, real and all natural ingredients.

At Exquise Patisserie we source the finest ingredients from around the world and will never sacrifice your taste experience for a higher profit margin – it’s just one of the things that makes us different. When making our desserts and pastries we use:

  • Les Vergers – 100% frozen fruit puree imported from France – Boiron Fruit Puree for our marshmallows, cakes, macaroons and fruit flavoured desserts.
  • Crème Fraiche – a classic, smooth and thick French-style dairy cream which is much richer than normal whipping cream – for caramel slices, muffins and scones
  • Freshly cooked orange to make candied orange and our orange almond cake.
  • Ripe banana to make banana muffins
  • Fresh lemon for our lemon curd
  • Our own sweet almond cream and high-quality butter for almond croissants
  • Cooked caramel in all our caramel products, not flavour or essence. It takes at least 40 minutes just to cook the filling for our caramel slices.
  • High-quality ingredients and fresh nuts.
  • Imported French and Belgium chocolate of the highest quality in all our chocolate products including hot chocolate.

Meet Esther – Exquise’s Head Chef and Owner

For Esther Duan – head chef and owner of Exquise Patisserie – baking is more than just a passion, it is a labour of love which enhances all of her baked creations.

After migrating to Australia from China Esther discovered her love of baking at a Swan Tafe course in early 2008. She gained experience through causal jobs in bakery and pastry kitchens, finding that tasks most people found boring such as peeling pears, cutting apples, cracking eggs and slicing cakes for her brought much enjoyment. At night she would practice baking in her rental house chosen for its oven.

On recommendation from one of her pastry chefs Esther packed up all her baking books and moved to Sydney in 2009 to learn from the best at Le Cordon Bleu, a training institute renowned around the world as the ultimate in cuisine, patisserie, hospitality and gastronomy training with a focus on using high-quality ingredients.

In 2014, Esther started Exquise Patisserie to bring her love of fine foods to Fremantle, Western Australia. Initially opening as a retail shopfront and cafe, Esther now focusses on high yield production of cakes and patisseries to serve hotels, restaurants, aged care homes and other commercial establishments, while providing retail options that customers can order online and pick up in store.
